Yes. There is an awake caregiver on duty through the night, plus a second caregiver sleeping on site who is woken if there is an emergency. Our caregiver to resident ratio is one to three.
The exterior doors are secured and alarmed, there are monitored cameras in the common areas, and a caregiver is always present in the rooms where residents spend their day. The back decks are enclosed, so residents can be outside in the fresh air safely.
Less than most families expect. Both homes sit on a private acre, they are twelve minutes apart, and they share the same House Manager and Administrator, with caregivers moving between the two and getting to know every resident. The real difference is not the house, it is the mix of people living there at the time. We like to meet each resident before they move in so we can suggest which home they would settle into best.
Yes, any time. We ask that you call ahead so we can give you our full attention, and we find that between 10am and 7pm works best, so a visit does not land in the middle of the morning or bedtime routine. Families are also welcome to join residents for any meal, including our Sunday High Tea.
You tell us what is going on with your loved one. Then we meet them, either at the home or by coming to you, whichever is easier. We do a simple assessment and gather paperwork from their doctor along with family history, and a nurse calls you to talk through the medical side and make sure this is a good fit. After that, bring clothes and toiletries. We supply the furnishings, linens and decor, and you are welcome to hang pictures and make the room feel like theirs.
