Who we can care for

Every stage of dementia, from early memory loss through the late stage, including residents who:

• wander or try to leave
• need help bathing and dressing
• are incontinent
• use a walker or a wheelchair
• are on hospice

Most residents stay with us to the end of their lives. Couples are welcome.

When we are not the right fit

If a resident uses a wheelchair and can no longer pivot, needs a two person assist, or needs a hoyer lift, we cannot care for them safely.

We would rather say so early than have a family face a second move later.

Overnight and staffing

A caregiver is awake and on duty through the night, with a second caregiver sleeping on site who is woken in an emergency.

Our caregiver to resident ratio is one to three.

How the home is kept safe

• secured and alarmed exterior doors
• monitored cameras in the common areas
• a caregiver always present where residents spend the day
• an enclosed back deck for fresh air

Care provided here

Just Like Home is non medical. We hold a Connecticut Department of Public Health Residential Care Home license, and the caregivers who pass medications are state medication certified.

A concierge medical team visits every two weeks, and more often when needed. Psychiatrists, physicians, podiatrists and cardiologists come to the home. Physical and occupational therapy can be provided on site.

What it costs

All-inclusive from $9,200 a month, with a one time $4,000 move in fee. Furnishings and linens are included, so a resident arrives with clothes and toiletries.

Private pay, long term care insurance, and VA benefits including Aid and Attendance. We do not accept Medicaid.
